A 90th Anniversary Celebration for The National Garden Scheme

Over 120 guests came to celebrate a very special evening at Leeds Castle this July – the 90th anniversary of the National Garden Scheme.

The walled garden of the Maiden’s Tower on the Castle Island played host to the guests as they mingled in the early evening sunshine enjoying wine and canapes. The ‘Great British Bake Off’ finalist and garden designer, Jane Beedle, made a delightful introductory speech and then the guests were whisked off by the Leeds Castle gardeners for an in-depth view of the gardens. Andrew McCoryn, Head Gardener, and his team pointed out key features and discussed the wonderful new planting schemes being introduced to diverse areas including the Barbican rockery, The Lady Baillie Mediterranean Garden and the Castle Island itself.
