Queen’s quests, thrilling playgrounds, scenic walks, and of course red, white and blue cupcakes, are ready waiting for you this Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend!
From 2nd to 5th June, you are invited to celebrate with friends and family at Leeds Castle where a long weekend of fun awaits.
With so much to keep you busy, we’ve listed our top five things to do…
Discover our six medieval queens
Join our quartet of storytellers as they take you on a journey through the Middle Ages, telling the stories of the six most famous queens who lived at Leeds Castle.
Twice a day between 11am and 4pm, you can experience a themed show on the Pavilion Lawn, where the queen’s stories are brought to life in a fast-paced, story-led show of crusaders, romantics, rebels and custard tarts! Expect music, singing, dancing and of course, a lot of audience interaction.
After your voyage through history, join us on our Medieval Jubilee Quest! You will be given a trail sheet of questions to answer, before you hunt for our four storytellers. Armed with the answers, each storyteller will share their stories as you listen for the answer. One will lead you onto the next, until you’ve completed the quest. Discover more here.
Family adventures to remember
Let your little one’s imagination run wild as they zip wire across the playgrounds, scale the turrets and even zoom down the slide… Our Knights’ Stronghold and Squires Courtyard playgrounds have plenty to keep them entertained for hours!
To win ultimate bragging rights for the weekend, challenge the family to a game of adventure golf. Cross the moat, hit the ball through the miniature Castle gates, and aim for a hole in one.
And don’t forget to watch in awe as birds of prey swoop overhead at our daily falconry displays, before you get the chance to meet these majestic creatures up close and personal. Discover more here.
Sun-drenched strolls through the gardens
Gather with loved ones as you admire the colourful and fragrant Culpeper Garden and Lady Baillie Mediterranean Garden Terraces. Be sure to look out for our blooming roses and beautiful wisterias.
Head through the Princess Alexandra Gardens as you look out for an abundance of local wildlife in the Woodland Walk. Watch as geese and their goslings stroll pass, admire the green filled trees, and tip toe past the baby rabbits (if you’re lucky enough to see them!).
And if you want to sit back and relax, bring a picnic with all your favourite treats and perch yourselves next to the moat… this is the perfect spot for peaceful daydreaming as swans and ducks swim by. Discover more here.
Glide into the exotic 1930s
Lady Baillie championed the Castle’s history as she created her glamorous 20th century country house retreat. Today, you are invited to enter the Castle as Lady Baillie’s house guest, as you learn the story of her guests and staff preparing for the weekend ahead, where music, dancing and dangerous liaisons were the order of the day.
Imagine the gossip nattered between staff and cocktails sipped by guests, the tension felt as high stakes gambling took place in the Games Room, and discover the sparkling mix of Hollywood stars, societies finest and leading politicians all of whom partied within the Castle’s walls.
