Exciting changes are coming to Leeds Castle

Get ready to step into the glamorous world of the 1930s.

In recent weeks you may have seen lot of changes here at Leeds Castle. You may be wondering what we are doing and why.

Well, we are delighted to announce that the Castle is embarking on a new adventure which will involve new thematic displays and introduce you to one of the most sophisticated, yet enigmatic female owners of the Castle. Lady Olive Baillie transformed the Castle into one of the most desirable country houses of the 20th century, a weekend retreat for Hollywood stars, society’s finest, and leading politicians all of whom partied within the Castle’s walls.

From now until April, you will have an unprecedented opportunity to witness the behind-the-scenes transformation of these unique interiors. You’ll be introduced to Lady Baillie’s collaborators and top French designers, Armand-Albert Rateau to Stéphane Boudin. You will join her quest as she seeks to acquire the finest collection of objects from some of the most famous Auction Houses. You’ll experience all the hedonistic glamour of a 1930s ‘salon’, where music, dancing and dangerous liaisons were the order of the day.

While enjoying the lively atmosphere, you will have the opportunity to interact with the Castle’s staff, who play an integral role in its vibrant energy. Keep an ear out for their daily chatter as they work diligently, all while being supervised by their mysterious mistress.

So mark your diaries as in April 2022, as you will be invited to experience early 20th century Castle life as one of Lady Baillie house guests!
