Free Online Teaching Resources for Parents from Leeds Castle

With the possibility of schools remaining closed until at least March, Leeds Castle is offering parents a fantastic range of completely free educational resources to help keep the kids entertained and educated whilst at home. Simply visit the new ‘Home Education’ section of the Leeds Castle website and discover a host of activity books, scavenger hunts, worksheets and quizzes ready to download.

Leeds Castle welcomes schools and educational groups from the UK, Europe and all over the world, all year round. As we can’t currently run our wide variety of themed workshops and tours, our team of knowledgeable and well-trained staff have been busy writing the selection of free resources and worksheets to aid learning and educational development at home.

Making History at Home’ is just one of the exciting new resources aimed at primary age children. Themed around encouraging children to document their memories from 2020/2021 and the global pandemic, this workbook is not just a fun activity, it will also create a record for children to keep and look back on in years to come to remember living through a major historical event.

If your little one is missing Forest School, download the ‘Leeds Castle Home Wildlife Hunt’ and hunt outdoors for creatures which can be found not only on the Leeds Castle estate but if you look carefully, in your garden at home or local park.

The ‘Castles Activity Book’ is packed full of history and quiz questions to keep the kids busy during lockdown and when they’ve finished learning why not download the ‘Leeds Castle Home Scavenger Hunt’ and enjoy hunting indoors to find objects which can also be linked to ‘Castles’. The ‘Leeds Castle Puzzle Book’ is a popular resource, jam packed with puzzles, games and even a picture of Henry VIII to colour in.

Helen Ellis, Leeds Castle Education Manager said:

“During lockdown, we are unable to deliver onsite learning and so we have been concentrating on writing resources, linked to Leeds Castle which can be done at home. Our primary aim is to support children’s learning, whether they are at school or at home. Education has always been an integral and important part of Leeds Castle. We offer a variety of workshops, talks, learning sessions and resources all tailored to the national curriculum and all aimed at having fun whilst learning. We deliver these at all levels of learning but our core customers are the children studying at levels KS1 and KS2.”
