Celebrate the Autumn Equinox on the 23rd September 2023 with an evening of fine food, musical entertainment and dancing, as our Kentish Evening returns!

Celebrations begin at 7pm with a refreshing Kentish reception drink upon arrival. Guests will then be welcomed into the 17th century oak-beamed Fairfax Hall where a three-course banquet dinner awaits. You’ll enjoy mouth-watering dishes produced and sourced in Kent, with choices including:

Starters

  • Kentish blue, roasted fig & lavender honey with sourdough, chicory & endive salad (V)
  • Knells farm asparagus with pickled mushroom, heirloom tomato, lovage pesto dressing (Ve)

Mains

  • Family style whole roast chicken or roast loin of pork with duck fat roast potatoes, buttered kale, honey glazed carrots & parsnips, roast apple, cider & sage gravy
  • Jerusalem artichoke & spinach pithivier with stem broccoli, turnip, vegetable jus (Ve)

Desserts

  • Dark chocolate tart with warm cherry compote & Solleys vanilla bean ice cream
  • Kentish apple, pear & blackberry crumble with custard sauce

During dinner, enjoy entertainment by the Boughton Monchelsea Morris dancers who will delight and amaze. After dinner, the music will change tempo as the Ceilidh band, Hot Rats, will perform and you join in the dancing festivities.

Residential guests will wake up the following morning with a hearty breakfast and a warm cuppa before your departure.
